Darwin's Living Legacy: A Conference on Evolution and Society

Charles Darwin is celebrated as one of the greatest scientists of all time, with his work forming the foundation of many different research fields and yet, his ideas still stir up controversy.

We would like to explore this controversy and promote an informed dialogue about evolutionary theory, grounded in a mutual respect for differences in ideas, cultures and religious beliefs.

To initiate this, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in collaboration with the British Council is organizing a 3 day conference of Darwin.

The four main themes running through the conference are:

1- Research frontiers: exploring the frontiers of evolutionary science

2- Putting evolution to work: applications of evolutionary science in areas such as medicine, agriculture... learn More 

 

The CSSP celebrates its 6th Birthday


In July 2009, the Center for Special Studies and Programs (CSSP) celebrated its 6th birthday in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
